Our garden membership is made up of a number of familes in Montgomery. It is communally maintained, and we all share in the harvest—we do not have individual plots. The garden is in a fenced 100x70 ft area. We organize regular work bees so members can socialize and learn from each other. We try to plan at least one larger garden event during the season. We ask that our members put in at least 2 hours of work per month at the garden. There is a playground next to the garden, so it's a great place for families with young kids. The garden has fruit trees and shrubs: sour cherry, pear, hascaps, ...

The garden provides us with opportunities to connect with other gardeners and horticulturalists from our community and beyond. We have an annual meeting and work bees. Updated Feb 2025.

We welcome anyone who is willing to abide by our community code of conduct, who has an interest in gardening, and who wishes to connect with others about food, plants, and soil in a safe, inclusive environment. The Erlton Community Garden was established in 2021 by volunteers of the Erlton Community Association (ECA). This venture would not have been possible without generous donations of time, advice, funds and materials from the City of Calgary, Possible Garden, Hands on Growing and the Calgary Horticultural Society, in addition to the support of the community. We are especially thankful to Anthem Properties for leasing this undeveloped land to us. Our garden is located in the inner city bordering Lindsay Park and contains 50 garden plots of various sizes. Not only do we serve the Erlton ...
